The book community in the ethereal landscape of the internet has something inspiring about it and even the booksellers and publishers seem to join in with the bloggers. Participation is encouraged and welcomed so in pursuit of being part of this band of readers, I am taking part in the Literary Giveaway Hop hosted at Leeswammes which is an event taking place from Saturday February 19th until (and including) Wednesday February 23th.
I am giving away the The Post-Birthday World by Lionel Shriver, a novel I reviewed on Suite101 and which inspired a lot of irritation in me. Shriver is the Orange prize winning author of We Need To Talk About Kevin and whether her work is likeable or not, it can’t help but leave the reader unmoved. At least that’s how I felt about it.
To be in with a chance to win please tweet or Facebook ‘like’ this post and then comment below to tell me you have done it. This giveaway is international so I will be happy to post anywhere. For an extra entry you can tweet about the giveaway, just mention your tweet username in the comment and @ephemeraldigest in the tweet. Remember to leave your twitter name or email address (in the comment form so it’s not public) so I can contact you if you have won.
Update: become an email subscriber for a chance to win Anne Tyler’s <a href="Noah’s Compass – subscribe from the home page.

I’m embarrassed to say We need to talk about Kevin is still lying unread on Mt TBR. Why not give it some company? 😉
Oh, and my international literary giveaway is up too — are you in for some nineteen eighties nostalgia?
I haven’t heard of this book but I’m an eclectic reader and like to try new books.

I tried to read We’ve got to talk about… but it just seemed unrelentingly dark and pessimistic. It put me off reading this one, but, if I win it, I’ll give it a go,
